After the success of the first Windrush Children’s Festival in 2022 Fresh Arts C.I.C has produced the Windrush Children’s Festival 2023 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Empire Windrush arriving in Britain. 

We have invited schools to submit entries of art, creative writing and poetry in response to our Children of the Windrush Generation video series. 

We are sharing these entries as a digital celebration of children’s learning about the contributions and experiences of people who arrived in the UK as children during the Windrush Generation. 

This project was designed to teach children about migration and to help children to explore both the stories of The Windrush Generation and their own family histories of movement and migration.
