Fresh Arts runs projects in partnership with councils, schools and other organisations to make the arts more accessible to children and families that are hard to reach or vulnerable. We founded the Grenfell Arts Project working with children and families who were affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire, we also run EAL drama projects for parents, SEN theatre projects and were contracted by Camden Council to deliver theatre sessions with at risk teenagers.
We are committed to developing excellence in arts leadership and widening the access to our sessions across the UK. We are looking for people who would like to run their own Fresh Arts Regional Office to reach children in their local community with excellent quality arts sessions.
We have bought in Fresh Arts at The Village School for a number of years now because of the added value they give to our expressive arts curriculum. One of the projects we buy in is the “Village Theatre School” which gives our talented students the opportunity to access a theatre school experience…Our students have made huge progress in performing arts through this project and have also developed transferable skills in team-working, commitment and perseverance. The expectations are high and our students rise to the challenge, increasing their confidence and self-esteem as the project progresses.
Deputy Headteacher at Bridgewater Primary School
We have been delighted with the provision that Fresh Arts have given us this Year to cover our Music PPA. The teachers are enthusiastic and the children love the lessons that they have received. Fresh Arts provide planning linked to our topics in school and teach the children progressive skills in line with the National Curriculum requirements. They also run our choir each week and a very popular Musical Theatre club. They are very flexible and have helped with small performances to parents and carol services outside of the school day. They have also covered other music teachers when required. As well as music, Fresh Arts also provide drama lessons that are very engaging for the children. The admin provided is also very organised with excellent communication. We highly recommend Fresh Arts based on our experience so far.
Deputy Head Teacher Barham Primary School
We were delighted to find a professional company who could prepare our children to participate in Public Speaking and Performance Prose/Poetry awards through LAMDA. What started as an extra-curricular, after-school club has become an integral part of our enrichment offer in accelerating the progress of our pupils. We use part of the Pupil Premium Grant for Fresh Arts to provide in-school Oracy development. This has had a significant impact, particularly on our new arrival/beginner EAL pupils. Class teachers, parents and pupils
themselves talk positively and passionately about the children’s increase in confidence and willingness to speak out loud. The Fresh Arts tutors have helped our children to ‘find their voice’ and to use it.
Sport & PE / Health & Well Being Fryent Primary School
Fresh Arts company have been delivering Speech and Drama sessions after-school for us since 2015. The sessions are always full and at times there is even a waiting list. The children attending always enjoy and have vastly developed their confidence in speaking and performing in front of other children. The skills learned sets the children up nicely for their future in whichever route they decide to go such as in performing arts or leadership roles amongst other peers. We value working with Fresh Arts and plan to continue to for the foreseeable future.
